A major regional hub comprising two main port areas: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 berths are located at the end of a 3,000 m. causeway and handle crude oil and iron ore. Terminal 2 berths are located within an artificially created harbour and handle dry and liquid bulk, liquefied gas, offshore and breakbulk cargoes. Plans for future development include the creation of a container terminal and support facilities for the Brazilian Navy
