Port comprises two private concessions: MBM Port sh.a and Porto Romano sh.a. MBM Port administers Porto Romano Free Port Zone, a purpose-built facility protected by artificial breakwaters. It has numerous terminals for handling oil and LPG, breakbulk bulk and Ro-Ro cargo. A newly installed CBM for oil tankers is situated SW of northern breakwater head. A container terminal is currently under construction. Porto Romano sh.a. operates a finger pier with T-head jetty just north of MBM Port concession for handling petroleum products and LPG.
