Zeebrugge port consists of outer and inner harbours. The outer harbour handles containers, LNG, passengers and Ro-Ro, and the inner harbour handles bulk, containers, food and Ro-Ro. The outer harbour is connected to inner harbour areas by the Pierre Vandamme Lock, also known as Pierre Vandammesluis or PVD, and the Visart Lock, also known as Visartsluis. The Pierre Vandamme Lock provides access to Verbindingsdok and the Visart Lock provides access to Prins Filipdok. Access to the Baudewijnkanaal is possible via Prins Filipdok, the canal connects Zeebrugge and Bruges. The port of Zeebrugge is a Core port in the North Sea-Mediterranean and Rhine-Alpine Corridors in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
